Fun September Wedding at GG's Yard

Can you tell us about your venue and photographer?

Yes of course! Our venue was at Ggs yard Laggan, we got married on the 29th of September 2021. The best thing about GGs yard is that it doesn't really need much dressing, plus any extras such as centre pieces etc we did ourselves! Our amazing photographer was Neil Thomas Douglas, our pictures came out stunning and we are so so happy with the result. So many memories captured that we didn't get to see.

Can you tell us about any other suppliers?

Our flowers were done by Belles and thistles, who were such a great help and really brought my vision to life. Hair was by Jade Hatter at The 145 Collective and our cake was done by our family friend.

The Humanist was Ellen Gibson from the Humanist Society Scotland. She was wonderful and really made the day our own. Our videographer was Barry at worldly nomads

What was the best and worse bit of your big day?

The best bit had to be dancing! I also loved the golden hour pictures, it was nice to step away from the party for a wee 20 minutes. The worst part of our wedding would be that we had to move the date twice due to the lock downs, but it was well worth the wait.

What made you book at Unbridaled?

I had actually been following the Instagram page for a good while and had fallen in love with so many dresses! Plus, when I seen they had a sample sale coming up I just knew I had to attend!

What kind of dress shopper would you say you were?

I must admit I think I was a more organised shopper. I mean it was about 15 months before my wedding date when I booked, but I wanted to take advantage of the sale - which I'm so glad I did!

What did finding 'the one' feel like for you?

I guess I knew as soon as it was on! It was one of the ones I had already liked the look of in pictures and I loved how comfortable I felt in it.

Was your dress the style you thought you would originally go for?

I always knew I wanted a bohemian style dress with long sleeves, but I was open to trying on others! I think if my dress hadn't been available that day, I would have definitely walked away with one of the others, there was honestly that many beautiful dresses!

If you could offer one piece of advice to brides planning their wedding now?

Take some time out with your partner alone during the day to take it all in!

Oh, and definitely take out wedding insurance! You never know when the world might close down for a few years, again.
