DAUGHTERS OF SIMONE

Named for Simone de Beauvoir. That tells you everything. Victorian and Western influences, the free-spirited essence of the 1970s, scalloped crochet laces, French corded laces and 100% silk. For the bride who has always done things her own way and sees no reason to change that now.

WHY DAUGHTERS OF SIMONE?

Founded over a decade ago by sisters Ashley and Brittany Castaños, Daughters of Simone was built with a conviction to challenge conventional bridal norms. What started with 1970s wedding gowns discovered in local thrift shops, modelled by friends and family in a backyard, has grown into nine full production collections launched annually at New York Bridal Week.

"Daughters of Simone is for the bride who is genuinely pissed off she won't be wearing her favourite boots to her wedding"

Joined the lineup in 2025 after many years of admiring them from afar.

Who Wears DOS?

The modern outsider, bound to freedom with the spirit of rebellion. She has strong opinions, good taste, and absolutely no interest in looking like a bride from a catalogue. She probably has a dog, definitely has a record collection, and has been wearing the same pair of boots for five years because they are perfect and she sees no reason to change them.

Her look

Effortlessly cool in a way that has nothing to do with effort. Vintage pieces mixed with things she has had forever. She does not follow trends. She sets them without noticing.

Her approach

She came in knowing roughly what she wanted and left knowing exactly. She trusts her instincts because they have never let her down.

Her wedding

  • An outdoor ceremony in a Scottish field, a farm or somewhere with actual grass underfoot

  • A woodland or garden wedding where the setting does most of the work

  • A festival-style celebration — long tables, fairy lights, a band that plays until they're asked to stop

  • Any wedding where the dress code for guests said "wear something you love"

  • A Scottish coastal wedding where the wind is part of the aesthetic

  • A relaxed barn reception where dancing starts before dinner is finished

  • Any wedding where the couple wrote their own vows and meant every word
