Eleanor & Jonathan’s Three-Venue Edinburgh Wedding
Some weddings follow tradition. Others follow feeling.
Eleanor and Jonathan’s wedding day was exactly that – a celebration built around the places they love most in Leith, the people they care about, and the kind of relaxed, joyful energy that comes from doing things your own way.
Their day unfolded across three iconic venues — a roaming, city-style celebration that perfectly captured the spirit of Edinburgh’s harbour neighbourhood.
And yes… it rained. A lot.
But as Eleanor says, it ended up being the best part.
A Wedding Across Three Leith Icons
Instead of one traditional venue, Eleanor and Jonathan chose to celebrate across three of their favourite Leith spots:
• George Brown’s• The Ocean Mist• Custom Lane
The result was a wedding that felt more like a curated city experience than a single-location event.
Guests moved through Leith as the day unfolded, soaking up the energy of the neighbourhood the couple love most.
Saying “I Do” in the Rain
The standout moment of the day came completely unplanned.
As rain poured outside, Eleanor and Jonathan said their vows in front of a glowing window, the light reflecting through the rain behind them.
Instead of worrying about the weather, the rain created a moment that made everyone relax and simply enjoy what was happening.
As Eleanor put it:
“The rain obviously wasn’t planned but it made everyone let go and we said our vows in a glowing window while the rain poured.”
Proof that sometimes the best wedding moments are the ones you never plan.

The Unbridaled Dress Moment
Eleanor describes herself as “famously not a good shopper”, which made her experience dress shopping even more surprising.
When she visited Unbridaled, everything clicked instantly.
“We all just knew. It was my first appointment and I cancelled all the others after trying on the dress.”
Her dress fit perfectly into the vision she already had in mind — but elevated it beyond what she imagined.
“It was in the world I wanted, but it was so much better than I dreamed.”
Exactly the kind of moment we love to see.

A Wedding Designed Around What Matters
Rather than following tradition for tradition’s sake, Eleanor and Jonathan built their day around the things they truly cared about.
Good food. Good drinks. Candles. Dancing.
No unnecessary extras.
“We didn’t do things we didn’t want to do. We had candles on our cake and made sure the food and drinks were the star of the show. We wanted people full and dancing.”
The entire wedding was also planned by Eleanor herself, proving that sometimes the best planner is simply the couple who knows exactly what they want.

Eleanor’s Advice for Future Brides
If Eleanor could share one piece of advice with brides currently planning their weddings, it would be this:
Trust your gut.
And perhaps even more importantly:
“Don’t follow trends or family expectations – just do what feels good.”
Because when you build a wedding around the things that genuinely matter to you, the result is exactly what Eleanor and Jonathan had:
A day that felt completely, unapologetically theirs.
